Chiayi County Touchou Visitor Service Center
Located at No. 18K, Provincial Highway 18 in Touchou Village, Fanlu Township, Chiayi County, this site serves as the gateway to the Alishan National Scenic Area, making it an ideal spot for developing a resting and service point for tourists before heading up the mountain.
Integration of Landscape
The site is a flat piece of land, with a road to the south, resembling rapidly moving tracks, and a long mountain range to the north, acting as a barrier. Utilizing the north-south axis, the design weaves together the distinct features on both sides of the site, allowing visitors to experience the rhythm of the integrated landscape as they move through the space.
Floating
Employing a floating structure on the undulating terrain, the design gracefully touches the ground, creating a profound visual spatial experience.
Shuttle-like Movement
Drawing inspiration from the experience of traveling on a train through Alishan, the design features a Z-shaped loop, allowing visitors to shuttle through towering trees, and their line of sight follows the twists and turns of the movement path.
