The Beigang Sky Bridge is like a sculpture of the earth, lightly placed on the original slope protectionand river embankment. The front end of the bridge is made up of a deep beam plate as the majorstructure. Then the structure extends horizontally and turns into a "box-like" boarding wall systemin the middle section by pulling down the central axis. The gradual changed structural form shapesthe Sky Bridge and connects the original slope protection and river embankment. Due to the lack ofsunshine under the bridge, the plants are hard to grow. Therefore, a new plastic strategy is formedto create sensuous spatial experience under the bridge. By gradually folding and extending the facedconcrete of the Sky Bridge towards the gentle slope of the bridge pier, it creates a sensory experienceof turning from open to compressed, and from compressed to focused. It is like a process ofexperiencing time flow, which have the structure and the layering of spatial experience echoes each other.
